The Croatian midfielder will embark on his thirteenth season with the white club.
Luka Modrić, the Croatian midfielder and captain of Real Madrid, has renewed his contract with the white club for another season, until June 30, 2025, as announced by Real Madrid in a statement on Wednesday.
Modrić joined Real Madrid in 2012 and has won 26 titles during his twelve seasons with the club: 6 Champions Leagues, 5 Club World Cups, 4 European Super Cups, 4 La Liga titles, 2 Copa del Rey trophies, and 5 Spanish Super Cups.
Additionally, Modrić is part of an elite group of five players who have won 6 European Cups, holding the highest number of titles in the club’s history.
Individually, Modrić won the 2018 Ballon d’Or, FIFA’s Best Player award, and was named UEFA’s Best Player in Europe that year.
He has been included in the FIFA FIFPro World XI six times and has been named the Champions League’s Best Midfielder on two occasions. He has won the Club World Cup Golden Ball once and the Silver Ball once. With the Croatian national team, he earned the Golden Ball at the 2018 World Cup and the Bronze Ball at the 2022 World Cup.
Modrić has appeared in 534 matches for Real Madrid, netting 39 goals. Internationally, he has made 178 appearances for the Croatian national team, holding the record for the most international caps.
