Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim Might Arrive in September with Camera and Titanium Upgrades

The upcoming “Slim” version of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6 could arrive earlier than expected, and it might come with some additional upgrades when it’s released.

Three new reports about Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6 “Slim” reveal fresh details about the device, including its possible release date. According to The Chosun Daily, Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 6 “Slim” in South Korea on September 25.

The device is said to have settled on a design that’s just “over” 10mm thick, with larger screens measuring 6.5 inches and 8 inches. It seems that Samsung has been doing “everything possible to make it 0.1 millimeters thinner.”

But that’s not all—it’s also likely to come with some potential hardware upgrades.

Earlier this month, The Elec reported that Samsung had completed the development of a titanium back panel (behind the screen) for the “Slim” device. However, the company has yet to decide whether the device will ultimately use titanium or steel, though titanium aligns better with Samsung’s efforts to reduce the weight of the foldable device.

Lastly, Galaxy Club mentions that Samsung is finally working on upgrading the under-display camera in the Galaxy Z Fold 6 “Slim” with a better sensor. Specifically, a 5-megapixel camera instead of the 4-megapixel sensor that has been in use since the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in 2021.

Samsung is expected to release the “Slim” version only in Korea and China, while the regular Galaxy Z Fold 6 will still be sold in the rest of the world.
