Oriana Sabatini and Paulo Dybala’s Statement Hours Before Their Wedding: “We Have an Agreement”
The singer had an interview with her partner on her podcast, “Where Do We Go When We Dream”; the World Cup champion talked about his childhood, career, and hopes for retirement.
Oriana Sabatini and Paulo Dybala are experiencing a very special moment as a couple, as they are about to take a very significant step in their relationship. On Saturday, July 20, they will transition from being a couple to being “newlyweds.” The lovers will celebrate their wedding in an exclusive ceremony for 300 guests at Dok Haras, a venue located in Exaltación de la Cruz, Buenos Aires Province.
Before the wedding, the couple shared an intimate personal encounter with their followers. The football player encouraged his girlfriend to interview him for her podcast, “A donde vamos cuando soñamos” (Spotify and YouTube). In addition to reminiscing about his childhood in Laguna Larga, Córdoba; the death of his father, his beginnings in football, and his first steps as a professional, the World Cup champion talked about his future once the ball stops rolling and not only expressed his desire to become a father but also revealed an important agreement they have together.
On Thursday, the third episode of the podcast “A donde vamos cuando soñamos,” hosted by Oriana Sabatini, was released.”What thoughts and emotions fill the mind and heart of an elite athlete? “Through the eyes of the jewel, Paulo Dybala, we see love, joy, privilege, loneliness, frustration, mental health, fear, dreams, and so much more.”
After discussing his childhood, his beginnings in sports, and the toughest moments of his career, the Córdoba native reflected on what his life could be like after football. “Does it make you scared, anxious, or a bit curious because it will affect your closest relationships? I mean, if you have a lot of time and we see each other every day… what will happen then?” Oriana asked him. Paulo didn’t hesitate and was honest about the promise they made together: “We have an agreement.” Hearing that, Oriana wasn’t sure of her response. “I forgot quickly!” joked the footballer, then revealed, “When I’m done, just as you accompanied me, I will accompany you.”
Sabatini responded, “I don’t know if my job will require that much travel.” However, for Dybala, the promise will be fulfilled no matter what happens. “Well, we can’t speculate on something we don’t have any information about.” That’s the priority,” he said. That’s the priority,” he said. He further explained that his intention is to plan what he wants to do before it’s time to retire: “The idea is for it to work out before my career ends.”
“I’m very curious about what will happen, but I can’t dwell on it right now.” Deep down, I feel I have five or six more years left, which is a long time, and many things can happen. I’m not thinking about it yet; I’m really enjoying football,” said the World Cup champion.
After just over an hour of conversation, the final question came. “I have to change it up with you because I ask this question to everyone, but in a specific way. It’s a very philosophical question, but with you,” it will become a reality. I’ll ask you, who will Paulo be without football?” What followed were a few moments of silence until the interviewee said, “I also have a bit to shine.”
Sabatini explained, “If this is where we go when we dream, it is precisely the place where that can be possible.” Paulo admitted, “I’m very curious to see how I’ll be as a father.”
“You’ll see soon,” Oriana said, although she quickly clarified, “I’m not pregnant either, but soon, at some point.” Dybala, holding his fiancée’s hand, spoke openly about his desire to experience fatherhood, despite his lingering fears: “I feel like I’ve never had that figure after what happened to my old man and all the memories I have of him until now. I was 15 years old, so I feel that up to the age of 15 I’ll be fine, but after that, I don’t know.” Facing that, the singer told him he would do “incredibly” as a father: “I’m telling you, really. Be confident. No one knows how to be a parent.”
“I’m curious because I really want to be a father, I’ve always wanted to be a father and I feel that now is the right time,” affirmed the Córdoba native, and Oriana realized she agreed. “Well, to make dreams come true,” she said, thanking him for participating in the podcast with an “I love you” to conclude the one-on-one dialogue.
